I recently completed the METU Digital Marketing training – and I’m not exaggerating when I say: this year and a half was one of the best decisions of my life. The application was a sudden impulse – just like someone grabs a different candy at the checkout, I „threw a master’s program into the cart.” And I’m so glad I did!
From a university chair to a classroom desk
At the start of the training, I was an adjunct at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Szeged. However, I felt it was time to approach the world of marketing with fresh eyes and new impulses. I needed a new perspective, that would shake me out of the usual university rhythm, and bring back my curiosity and enthusiasm – not only for the profession but also for my own development.
At the Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) Executive MBA digital marketing postgraduate program I not only gained up-to-date knowledge (which I can rely on every day as a digital marketing consultant), but I also became part of an inspiring community.. The instructors and fellow students completed the experience. I wouldn’t have believed that I would be eagerly waiting to catch the 4:30 AM train to Budapest on Saturdays – but that’s exactly what happened.
When theory immediately becomes practice – my favorite classes during the training
I chose the Digital Marketing MBA program because, on one hand, I wanted to systematize the knowledge I had previously acquired, and on the other hand, my goal was to expand it with up-to-date, marketable knowledge. It was important for me to participate in a program where I would receive immediately applicable, practice-oriented knowledge while being able to ask my questions.
I developed in many exciting areas during the training, but if I had to highlight a few, they would be the ones that had the greatest impact on me:
A Search Marketing Systems I-II course immediately translated theoretical knowledge into practice. My own Google Ads account 1. creating, setting up, and optimizing campaigns in real time „2. my ”aha moments" 3. were. I gained knowledge that I could use in the very first hour after class – which is an enormous value. Moreover, with the help of Róbert Vági, we not only focused on the technical details but also 4. strategic thinking 5. developed, giving me a comprehensive picture of building a digital campaign.

A 6. The guerrilla and viral marketing course 7. opened new dimensions for me in content creation. Edit Szabó, a well-known figure in the profession, confirmed that a campaign becomes truly effective when 8. it steps out of the usual frameworks 9. and dares to show something new, something different.
The 10. The E-PR class 11. highlighted how crucial conscious relationship building is in the digital space as well 12. , the strategic placement of messages, and the, 13. authentic tone of the brand 14. . It was a huge experience to learn personally from Melinda Klausz, whose book I started to explore Facebook ads years ago.. 15. However, the greatest impact came from.
16. Online media planning and buying 17. on me. Tamás Szeles not only provided a system for the knowledge in my head during the course but also directly inspired the topic of my thesis. 18. This year and a half helped me to step away from the usual rut, to see my previous career from the outside, and to boldly open up to new opportunities. Since then, new friendships, new clients, and new projects have found me, thanks in part to the training. I have reached the point where I am ready to give back even more of my acquired expertise to the community.

From classroom desk to university lectern
It is a special honor for me to have received an invitation at the suggestion of the creator and leader of the training: starting from September, I will continue the Web-based content management, usability, and ergonomics course. I became a student from a teacher – and now I can be a teacher again, this time within the walls of METU. This circle closes, and a new, exciting chapter begins.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the instructors of the METU digital marketing program and my fellow students for being part of this journey. It started from an impulse, but it has become a conscious, long-term development.
If you are also thinking about whether to dive in – don’t hesitate, apply! It might just be the best „spontaneous” decision of your life. Having gotten to know the program, I dare say that you can acquire up-to-date, practically applicable knowledge – from professionals working in the business sector.
The thesis I prepared as the final element of the program far exceeded a diploma work – it became a real milestone in my professional development. It was a unique experience that I had previously supported students as a consultant in a similar process, and now I was sitting on the „other side” – as a thesis writer. In my thesis, I examined how the credibility of influencers can create value, using the example of Alexandra Béres, and I built the campaign strategy for the Balance product line based on the STDC and POE models. In this intensive work, my supervisor, Tamás Szeles, provided enormous help and inspiration for me, without whose support and professional guidance this work could not have been completed in this form. The experiences and knowledge gained during the preparation of the thesis have since been defining elements of my work, for which I am extremely grateful.
If you are curious about others' opinions regarding the program, I recommend Eszter, Kinga, or Csaba 's report!
