How does a student of the field view the METU Executive MBA Digital Marketing program?
One of the most well-known slogans of the modern world is „lifelong learning.” After obtaining the first diploma, a person realizes after a shorter or longer time that what they learned over the years is not sufficient or does not provide the appropriate knowledge for them. New business and career opportunities, new goals, and new challenges then motivate them to acquire more and more knowledge.
It is becoming increasingly rare today for a single training, diploma, or profession to be sufficient for a lifetime – as the world around us is changing so rapidly that we constantly need to acquire new knowledge and skills if we want to succeed in the business world or the labor market. For applicants who already hold a diploma, professional training offers a practical opportunity to deepen their knowledge or acquire new professional skills.
Different backgrounds – common goal
Although students with quite different backgrounds come together year after year in the METU Executive MBA Digital Marketing training program, they share one common goal: they want to better understand the advertising opportunities offered by the digital world. In recent years, and especially due to the impact of the coronavirus, the digital world has slowly become a „second home” for all age groups, and regardless of age or profession, we now spend a significant part of our lives online, making it clear that not only dating sites but also sellers and service providers are increasingly finding each other in the virtual space of the internet. To stand out amidst the „advertising noise” caused by competing companies and the incredible richness of content on the internet, a well-thought-out, carefully constructed strategy is necessary. For this, it is essential to have a good understanding of the opportunities and pitfalls of visibility and advertising.
Without up-to-date knowledge, it won't work
As a graduate with multiple professions and several years of experience behind me, I have been toying with the idea of furthering my education for years. During my professional advancement, in order to gain recognition at work, I suddenly felt two or three years ago that I needed another qualification to validate my acquired knowledge and better coordinate the team. During negotiations and discussions with younger colleagues and agency contacts, I realized that I would have to master this knowledge more deeply if I wanted us to work together effectively and for my expertise and knowledge to be recognized.

So, twenty years after finishing university, I played with the idea of „enrolling in school” again and applying for a serious and thorough training program. What motivated me first was that I wanted to know more about the opportunities, as the digital advertising market has changed and developed so much in recent years that it is very difficult, almost impossible, to acquire all the necessary knowledge through self-study, workshops, webinars, and continuous reading. In my work in corporate marketing, it is now unavoidable, indeed essential, to have comprehensive and up-to-date digital marketing knowledge.
Why METU?
Why did I choose METU? If I remember correctly, I first learned about the METU training from a digital advertisement 🙂 I don't remember exactly where I first encountered the ad, but of course, after clicking, thanks to the „wonder” of remarketing, the well-set system ensured that I wouldn't forget about it. Thus, from the seed of thought, a plan was born, and then a decision. The final decision was influenced by my preliminary research in various professional groups, which revealed that several people specifically recommend this training due to its practical applicability, diverse and colorful knowledge, and extremely favorable price-value ratio. From all this, I concluded that it would indeed be worth studying here, because look, they have also built their own marketing campaign carefully and convincingly...
What did I gain from the METU training?
I was not disappointed with the preliminary expectations. During the one-and-a-half-year training, our instructors guided us by the hand and introduced us to the world of digital marketing through live examples. In the training held on Saturdays, we got to know the service providers that define the advertising market in the digital space, starting from the basics and systematically, exploring the various channels of advertising opportunities, from website building to digital broadcasters and solutions offered by social media.
In addition to theory, we naturally had the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge: we learned and tried out the setup and measurement options of various advertising platforms, got acquainted with other digital solutions offered by content providers, had the chance to try ourselves as content managers, and finally planned complete campaigns. As a takeaway, we also received the essential legal and financial basics.

Therefore, I can confidently say that the METU Digital Marketing further training adapts well to the daily needs of the economy with its curriculum and provides immediately usable, practical knowledge to the applicants, as the teaching staff typically consists of recognized, successful professionals in the field—thus the curriculum responds promptly to the rapid changes in the market. There were times when I set up a solution I learned on Saturday by Monday morning and immediately applied what I had learned. But I often received ideas for solving challenges that arose during my work: I could easily transfer certain elements from assignments or exam materials into the presentations of workplace projects.
The power of community
Last but not least, a really good little community has formed from our class over the years! We, who completed the further training together with about twenty of us, first visited the building on Nagy Lajos király út, where we got to know each other better during situational exercises and shared lunches and coffee breaks. Unfortunately, the coronavirus forced us into online education as well, but in a digital program, this naturally did not pose a problem—on the shared chat, a constant conversation quickly developed in the group. We cried together, laughed together, and celebrated each other's successes together. There were times when, before the deadline of an exam or assignment, if I didn't have time to check my phone during the day, by evening I would have over sixty notifications waiting for me about unread messages. 😉

I am very glad that I chose the METU Executive MBA digital marketing professional training; the past three semesters have been very useful for me! I can only recommend the accredited further training with a diploma to anyone who wants to gain a comprehensive view and useful knowledge in an organized manner.
I sincerely hope that, alongside the professional knowledge acquired, I will also be able to use the connections fruitfully in the future.
