We are METU!

The new campaign film of the Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) was created by the university's international students

Attracting international students has played a prominent role for years in the Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) strategy, and one important pillar of the 2020 international campaign became a video made by students. From the preparation of the brief to the scripting, performance, and execution, everything was taken on by enthusiastic volunteers, interns, and recent graduates.

A total of 34 students from 24 countries participated in the project, the narrator was a Zimbabwean undergraduate student in international relations, while the video was filmed and edited by an Indian graduate student in imaging. „We are very proud that our students took on the performance and teamwork with such enthusiasm,” says Luca Utassy, the international marketing manager of METU.

„We found it particularly exciting to entrust them with the entire concept and message of the video. We could learn a bit from this, as we better understood how students experience life at METU and what they value most during this period of their lives.”.

The aim of the video is not to provide a general introduction to METU, but rather to focus on the experiences and thoughts of international students regarding university life, conveying their feelings through the film. International director Denissza Blanár adds:

„We were particularly pleased that the students” opinions about student life reflect the values that the Metropolitan University considers important. It includes the importance of searching for one's path, personal development, risk-taking, and self-expression. METU also values all of this, and these are the foundational pillars of our new myBRAND educational method.".

The international students of Metropolitan are also distributors of the video, and thanks to them and the paid appearances, the promotional film has reached every continent, with over half a million views on various social media platforms.

The Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) is Hungary's largest privately owned higher education institution.
