Hungarian success in the most significant creative portfolio

Kőteleky Aywee, our guest contributor, is considered among the best in the world.

The Australian Capsules Book has once again gathered the works of artists who are internationally recognized for their unique styles and special solutions. In this several hundred-page publication – which can be found on the desks of everyone from Warner Bros to Universal Music and Sony Music – Kőteleky Aywee's series of images was included as the only Hungarian.

The name of the Hungarian illustrator is not unknown in the domestic creative industry, as he has been actively involved in several projects as an art director for years. The world's most prestigious graphic design publication, Capsules Book, has also taken notice of his unique style and technique. In addition to works submitted from all over the world, the young designer was specifically approached to feature three of his abstract designs in this year's compilation.

The uniqueness of his portfolio lies in the fact that most of the drawings within it were created using a combination of analog and digital techniques, many of which have also been transferred to canvas. The designs depict imagined creatures and rough, angular faces that at first glance seem to be gazing into the distance. However, the characters convey emotions inspired by various life situations.

Aywee describes his work in the collection published in Melbourne as follows:

„During the creative process, I always relied on what truly lives within me and what wants to come out. These beings have received many different labels, from frightening to sad, but to me, they are rather dear, unique individuals. There are no smiles on the faces, but that is not because they are sad. We simply see the baseline state, not an emotional reaction. I also don't usually give titles to my images, as I don't want to limit or influence the viewer in what they see in my pictures. In a certain sense, these images are both caricatures of the world and of ourselves.”

This is not the only international recognition for the designer: last year, WOLDA – Worldwide Logo Design Awardfeatured participants from 43 countries, among which one of Aywee's logo designs was awarded the Award of Excellence prize.
